Located on 156 pristine acres in Schenectady County, Peaceful Acres Horses (PAH) is a sanctuary for formerly at-risk and slaughter bound equines. Peaceful Acres Horses’ mission is to offer rehabilitation, re-homing and retirement sanctuary to horses who have been a product of animal cruelty, saved from the slaughter pipeline, or companion horses who are unable to be placed or sold to forever homes.
We weren’t kidding about the Horse Hugs Field Trips! “Horses just radiate love, they really do”, says Founder & Executive Director Nanci Beyerl. Peaceful Acres Horses is a destination for schools, youth groups, seniors, veterans, and any business group who are looking for fresh air, beautiful scenery, and the opportunity to shower rescued horses and donkeys with love. Not to mention all participants get to enjoy a picnic lunch at the sanctuary!
As a Not-For-Profit Organization, PAH relies solely on the support of volunteers and donors, and they make it easier than ever to give. Financially you can donate directly to the organization, becoming a Member, a Feed Partner, Sponsoring a Horse, and more! Your purse strings may have tightened due to inflation; another invaluable asset you have that you can donate is your time. If you are at least 18 years old, Peaceful Acres Horses needs assistance with stable care, care & rehabilitation for the equines, administrative assistance, event planning, fundraising and community relations.
